Passport photo rejected — file too large or too small
The JPEG is larger than the portal maximum, or so compressed that the face is blocky.
Why the authority rejects this
CEAC DS-160 and several visa sites publish a maximum kilobyte size. A phone export at 4 MB will fail even if the crop is perfect.
What to do
- Use PicsForm’s catalog max (for example 240 KB on US passport/visa rows) as a starting point, then obey the portal if it is stricter.
- Export JPEG, not PNG or HEIC.
- Do not screenshot a photo — that inflates size and adds UI chrome.
