Other AI passport-photo platforms use face detection and background removal — but “AI” does not mean embassy-approved. Compare on rule sources, identity integrity, US 2026 original-only honesty, and whether hard failures block export.
Evaluation checklist for any platform
- Does the platform cite official government sources per document?
- Does it block export on hard rule failures?
- Does it avoid beauty filtering and face slimming?
- Can it output exact pixel dimensions and KB limits?
- Is pricing clear before upload — without urgency timers?
PicsForm approach
PicsForm uses deterministic geometry checks against our requirements catalog (sourced from gov URLs).
More details
PicsForm uses deterministic geometry checks against our requirements catalog (sourced from gov URLs). Background replacement runs only when the ruleset allows it — never for US passport, US visa (DS-160), or Green Card original-only documents. AI assists detection; rules decide Ready / Review / Retake. Hard failures block checkout.

FAQ
Is AI more accurate than a studio?
AI improves consistency for crop geometry. Accuracy depends on whether the platform’s rules match the embassy — not on the AI label alone. For US 2026 original-only docs, a real plain wall beats any digital backdrop.
